What I would be concerned with is the corruption on the drive. It sounds like the boot/system drive. You should check your event log to see if there are disk errors that were logged.
Now, and this is my personal opinion, disk drives are cheap, and if the corruption is due to a drive that is failing, it makes little sense to continue to use the drive. I would replace the drive. I would backup my data, collect any information about software installed, purchase a new drive, and start rebuilding.
Of course, it could be something entirely different.
