I noted that on the instructions to flash Edison on Windows that the "del *.*" result shows the u-boot-envs directory remaining and it has some bin files.
Since it is shown in the instructions after the files are deleted, I thought it should stay. It shouldn't, it should be deleted otherwise the older version seems to be used causing issues.
I was having trouble connecting to wi-fi and decided to reflash - this time deleting that directory. This fixed my wifi trouble.
So if you are having an unusual problem make sure you delete that directory or overwrite any conflicting files prior to flashing.
