Okay, great you found how to flash ubilinux on Edison !

Looks like problem with network but it's strange if you are able to ping google.com ...

What I did just after booting ubilinux :

- configure my network

          - vi /etc/network/interfaces to edit file

          - put # before auto usb0 to comment line (I'm not sure but I read that Edison connect to the laptop's network wia usb but didn't seem to work for me and I prefered to configure wlan0)

          - configure wlan0 (for WPA network) : wpa-ssid [network ssid] and then wpa-psk [network passphrase] (I used this link Loading Debian (Ubilinux) on the Edison - learn.sparkfun.com instructions are in "Quick and Dirty" part

- then I check like you : ping google.com -> after few seconds I stopped it with ctrl+c and checked that number of transmitted packets match number of received

- update and upgrade Edison (using apt-get) it was needed for me before downloading packages to correct "E: Unable to fetch some archives, maybe run apt-get update or try with --fix-missing?"

- then you can follow the instructions you mentioned (follow post from Daniele_Cleri)

Here you have what I did, but I'm not really sure it will fix your problem (I don't understand why you would have problem with network if able to ping google.com, maybe someone else will be more helpful).

Thomas
